Here is an open sparring session between multiple students at Team Junqueira Brazillian Jiu Jitsu in Morgantown, West Virginia. Some are training for an upcoming competition.
Markus Palmer, grey gi, and Eddie Sampson, blue gi, are grappling in an intense round inside of Team Junqeira’s BJJ gym to see who is the better opponent.
James White, white gi, and Timothy Javins, dark blue gi, roll as their instructors inspect their movements. James takes the top mount in an attempt to submit Timothy.
Another sparring round among the students at Team Junqueira BJJ as their two instructors, right side sitting down, analyze their behavior.
Rodrigo Junqueira, left, and Neale Hoerle, right, are the two main instructors here at Team Junqueira BJJ in Morgantown, West Virginia. Junqueira is a third degree blackbelt and Hoerle is a first degree blackbelt. These are the two best BJJ instructors around.
This project was very cool to do because it allowed me to go out and capture something that I personally love and that is the complexity of mixed martial arts. I got to meet the instructors who were extremely nice and understanding about when I asked them if I could photograph their class session. This is what I see myself doing in the future. If you are interested in beginning your journey in mixed martial arts then I highly recommend starting here at Team Junqueira Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. They are located in Morgantown, West Virginia at 308 Cheat Road – 26508.
